Access Statement

The Hotel is set on the seafront, just across the road from the Promenade. (There is a Pelican crossing outside the Hotel to the Promenade). There is a white access line outside the front door, which can be used as a drop off, and collection point.

Car Parks

Our Car Park has 20 spaces. Disabled Badge holders are able to park on the Promenade and also on the side street for an unlimited period, however badges must be displayed correctly and you must be parked correctly within the white dotted lines.

Handrail entrance

The entrance to the hotel is on Clonmel Street, just off the promenade and is approached by nine wide stone steps and one small step at the front door. These steps have highlighted nosings and the nine steps have handrails.

Wheelchair access

An alternative ramped access (gradient being 1.8) is provided on the street level to the hotel's basement level where there is a wheelchair unisex accessible toilet. This area has power points for re-charging electric wheelchairs/scooters. Access to the ground floor and other levels of the hotel is then via a lift: the internal measurement is 41.5 x 54.5 and the door is 29" wide. The lift has Braille signs on the buttons and also floors are indicated in audio.

Some bedroom doors are wide enough for wheelchair access. However, there is limited access into the bathrooms and they are not suitable for anyone who needs total wheelchair access. Some toilets, baths and showers have grab rails. We are continually adding grab rails to rooms however, if this is important to you please make this clear when booking. A Wheelchair Tray is available for anyone not able to access Reception Desk.

The Hotel is serviced by two lifts, however some bedrooms do still have stairs. Please ensure you book a room without stairs if needed i.e. with lift access. The Fire Officer has deemed one of our lifts as being suitable to be used in the event of a fire. However, anyone with mobility problems needs to be accompanied by a mobile carer/partner. This lift serves all floors except the 4th floor and is situated at the rear of the Hotel. If you would like to be shown where the nearest emergency exit is in relation to your bedroom or want someone to go over the Fire Regulations and Hotel information posted in your bedroom please ask reception on arrival. The Hotel's fire bells are sounded every Wednesday at 10 am.

All Public areas on the ground floor are either on the level, ramped or there is an alternative entrance. Arrangements can be made for anyone who needs to dine using their wheelchair in the Restaurant. Please advise when booking and a suitable table can be allocated.

Special Aids available on request e.g. tap adapters, raised toilet seat, bed blocks, cheque guides, etc.
